FOUR FLATS -
Residency at Gary Comer Youth Center

I was invited to do a six week residency at the Gary Comer Youth Center in Chicago's South Side.

I'm currently living in The Four Flats, a building housing artists about a block away from GCYC. All of the artists here are involved in teaching at Comer, as well as sharing a great communal space for thinking about how to develop relationships, resources and opportunity in this part of the city.

Thanks to Theaster for the opportunity to be here, and Dayna, Katie and Norman for great company and conversation so far! I just started teaching yesterday, so more about the center and the students soon...

ReTOOL -
Community Connections Grant!

Thanks to the Sprout Fund and Pittsburgh 250 for funding ReTool as a grassroots project!

ONE MILE GARDEN -
new evolution of One Mile Meal...

Ally Reeves and I have joined forces with Bob Bingham to develop the One Mile Garden - a sustainable food system project in York, Alabama. We're currently in conversation with the Coleman Center for the Arts and plan to implement the project during a series of residency visits in 2008 and 2009.

THE DISTILLERY PROGRAM

I am honored to be part of the second season of The Distillery Program at The Brew House Association.

The Distillery Program provides group studio space at the Brew House and brings a hand full of emerging artists together for discussion and critique, as well as meetings with visiting arts professionals.
This year's program is organized by Morgan Cahn, Anne Angel, and Nicholas Hoffman. My fellow participants are Jonathan Minard, Debra Williams, Brett Davis, Josh Space, Elise Goldstien, Rob Katkowski, and Wendy Osher (in no particular order...). This group represents an amazing collection of personalities, intellects and approaches to art making! We've had some great conversations so far and I look forward to more.

Stay tuned for our group show in March...
