Try Try Again

Try, Try Again was a series of performances that intervened into the daily, lunch-time activity of Market Square and PPG Plaza. Challenging the accepted use of the space, Try, Try Again transformed a pedestrian passageway between the two plazas into a musical set, a square dance floor and a lover’s lane, among other things.
The performances engaged downtown visitors and the business community on their lunch break, interjecting unexpected, whimsical, and sometimes nonsensical experiences into the workday. Several subtle performances were intended to blur the line between art and reality, while more overt performances directly addressed passers-by, inviting their participation. Over the course of a week, frequent users of the space came to recognize and draw connections between the various performances.
